A 2022 MetLife survey found that 73% of employees are more inclined to remain with their company if their health insurance options support their needs. What this also demonstrates is employees are considering their benefits packages alongside salary when weighing employment decisions.  More so, employees expect comprehensive packages that go beyond medical insurance and include wellness programs, professional growth, and work-life balance. When employers foster a positive employee experience, increased employee satisfaction, success, and better engagement will follow.

Health care, financial wellness, leave policies, and flexible work arrangements have emerged as among the most important benefit categories for employees. Policies such as leave of absence, time off, bereavement support and family-friendly benefits can also foster loyalty.  It’s crucial for employers to also prioritize value and inclusivity. This can be accomplished by identifying any gaps in the current benefit offerings and actively seeking input from employees to ensure that their needs are effectively addressed.

Employers who explore ways to make their health and wellbeing offerings stand create a positive work environment that fosters employee satisfaction and engagement.
